Some inter-holiday things
Group coaching re-open for enrollment, pre-new years reminders for your sanity, and another chance to rsvp to 2025 visioning workshop
Hello! I hope this email finds you well fed and lazy. I’ll keep this short, as reading a long email probably feels as boring to you right now as writing one feels to me.
1 — CHRISTMAS SURPREESE!
I decided to reopen my group coaching membership, UnfoldingSpace, for enrollment one last time at 2024 pricing ($155 USD/mo) before it increases to $185/mo on Jan 1st.
Your membership includes:
Locked-in pricing: you never pay more than the price you joined at as long as you’re a member—even when the price goes up.
2 x 90 minute group coaching calls per month. These are not surface-level sessions. We go deep in each call. Prepare to be shook.
The kinship and support of a highly-dedicated, growth-oriented group.
The ability to book discounted one-off coaching sessions with me for extra support.
2 — SIX REMINDERS TO PRESERVE YOUR SANITY IN PREPARATION FOR THE IMMINENT ONSLAUGHT OF HOKEY NEW YEARS CONTENT
REMINDER ONE: New Year’s is a made up holiday. It’s so made up, different cultures celebrate it on different days for entirely different reasons. If you’re not in a growth-phase right now, you don’t have to force yourself to be just to satisfy some arbitrary cultural standard. You can set new goals whenever the fuck you want.
REMINDER TWO: Most New Year’s marketing exploits your shame to sell shit to you. Goals rooted in shame—attempts to escape a version of yourself you see as embarrassing or unworthy of love—are generally doomed to failure. Growth does not thrive in conditions of self-loathing. If you want to succeed, ignore the grift, and choose goals based on expanding the parts of your experience that you already love. The rest will follow naturally.
REMINDER THREE: We are interdependent beings. The version of you most likely to reach their goals is also the most supported version of you. Do not underestimate the importance of high-quality community in your evolution. The one thing all high-performers have in common is that they are surrounded by mutually inspiring and nourishing relationships (coaches, mentors, muses, friendships…), and environments. There’s no such thing as “self-made”. Plan accordingly.
REMINDER FOUR: Self-discipline is not synonymous with self-punishment. The first is based in love for where you’re going, and supports your growth. The second is based in fear of staying where you are, and undermines your growth. They frequently masquerade as one another. Your success depends on your ability to differentiate the two.
REMINDER FIVE: The quickest route to success is often the most mundane. If you’re constantly putting pressure on your process to yield these big, breakthrough experiences to prove it’s working, then it’s not actually growth you’re chasing—it’s dopamine. Big growth is in the little growth that adds up. Your evolution will accelerate in proportion to your willingness to get as excited for the subtle shifts as you do for the explosive insights.
REMINDER SIX: There is no single “right” way to grow. Your next best steps to success depend on your unique biopsychosocial makeup, your current stage of development, the resources available to you, and your specific goals. In other words, their path to growth might look extremely different from yours. Get curious, not prescriptive. Treat other people’s processes as inspiration for your experimentation, not as authorities to subordinate to.
On that note, if you are in a growth phase right now and feel energized by the idea of support for your 2025 visioning process, you’re in luck! Because this is happening tomorrow:
Expect a supremely chill vibe. I welcome your snacks, your restless limbs, and your witty banter. Over ninety-ish minutes, we’ll harness the currents under your waves to bring clarity, flow, and direction to your New Year.
The cost to attend (registration linked below the paywall) is an $8/mo paid subscription to this Substack, SpaceUnknown, which you can cancel at any time.
